Back to the t.v. & big fun on Lost Girl

Been so busy with theatre- and music-related stuff lately, that I feel like I’ve been neglecting the tube.

A lot of my fave shows seem to be on hiatus right now: Body of Proof, Glee and what was supposed to be a new ep. of Being Erica on Monday night ended up being Hockey Night in Canada.

Anyway, those of you who haven’t seen this week’s Lost Girl are in for a treat: it’s body swapping episode “Original Skin.” You can still catch it on t.v. this week (check your listings) or go online at: http://www.showcase.ca/lostgirl/ Also, AfterEllen.com’s Dorothy Snarker has an excellent SnapCap: http://www.afterellen.com/tv/lost-girl-recap-209; it includes some great screen captures of Lauren (whose body gets occupied by an escaped – and dangerous – crazy dude) and the Kenzism of the Week (always a good time). Thanks, Dorothy – you rock!

This episode was loads of fun – and I imagine was big fun for the actors to play. Stand-outs are Zoie Palmer (Lauren taken over by crazy dude), Kris Holden-Ried (Dyson being occupied by Kenzi) and Anna Silk (Bo becomes host to southern-accented bounty hunter dude). “Original Skin” also included some drama, with a nice moment between Bo and Lauren ending with Lauren getting all businessy and blowing Bo off, and Bo encountering that spooky harbinger of doom kid again. There’s also a very weird moment with the Ash, but I’ll let you see that for yourself (or read it in Dorothy’s recap). Something nasty is coming, chickens, and I’m afraid it might be our Bo.

At the end of the episode, everyone is back where they should be, and those who’d been swapped had no recollection of what had happened or where they’d been, while Lauren – her consciousness in limbo while her body was possessed by the crazy man – recalls a reunion with her Aunt Edna, who gave Lauren her cheesecake recipe. I see more baking in Lauren’s future – nice! Beautiful, smart, strong, loyal, funny (that mechanical bull suggestion she gave Trick for the Dal was hilarious!) – and likes to cook. Hands up, everyone who wants to marry Lauren. I do, I do!

With Camelot and Upstairs Downstairs wrapped, I’ll have to find other boob tube amusements tonight. Oh well.
