Back on June 6, I re-Tweeted a Call For Scripts for a festival called Gay Play Day – the notice came through on Alumnae’s Twitter feed.

It’s a newly-minted festival of short plays by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered playwrights, which will take place in Alumnae Theatre’s 3^rd floor Studio over two evenings, Friday September 28 & Saturday 29^th. Four short plays (each 10-15 minutes) will be performed in the first half of each evening, and a one-act play will be read in the second half. Same lineup on both nights. More details to come! In the meantime, one of the short plays, a 10-minute comedy/drama play called “Intervention” is seeking two male actors (28-35) to portray gay characters. The ability to play comedy is essential. Rehearsals will be in Toronto in early September. …
