Word & song of the year: 2026

Hey, all.

It’s been a while, I know. Lots to navigate and manage, including a big hole in holiday gatherings, and working through mourning and grieving for Sean.

Those of you who are regular visitors know that I like to set a word and song for the year – a word and song to live by, if you will.

While mulling over what’s been going on – on both a micro (personal) and macro (world) level – I thought about what choices would be the most helpful this year. And, like last year, the word and song complement each other.

The word is: light.

And the song is a recent release from Toronto-based singer/songwriter Angela Saini: “Where I Put the Light”. Here’s the official video. Thanks, Angela, for being an ongoing beacon of positivity, mindfulness and inspiration.

What’s your word and song for the year?

uplifting. when I read your post and spoke the word, I could/can feel the air flow through my body providing nourishment, grounding, all is okay within.

    light is breathable.

sending light for you to experience everyday. however you find it and how you observe, absorb for your own self.
