I’ve also posted Part One of two blog entries about the making of the film at http://www.filmannex.com/posts/blog_show_post/the-making-of-the-skateboarder-part-one/81802

The film was done with digital cut out animation. The characters were created in Illustrator and animated in After Effects. It has the look of a shadow play.

It’s about a boy who goes skateboarding in a construction site. Trouble ensues when he pulls a lever, activating the machinery on the site.

The inspiration for the film came from a flip book I created call “Skateboarding”. Here’s a clip from the book below:

Part Two of  my blog, the Making of “The Skateboarder” will appear this Thursday.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see me and buy my flip books at the OCAD Book Arts Fair on Saturday. It was nice to meet you all!
