The making of “The Skateboarder”

My 2005 film “The Skateboarder” can now be seen at http://www.filmannex.com/movie/the-skateboarder/39385

The film was done with digital cut out animation. The characters were created in Illustrator and animated in After Effects. It has the look of a shadow play.

It’s about a boy who goes skateboarding in a construction site. Trouble ensues when he pulls a lever, activating the machinery on the site.

The inspiration for the film came from a flip book I created call “Skateboarding”. Here’s a clip from the book below:
