You may have noticed that I recently did a Page overhaul, removing some pages from this blog in an effort to streamline content. After removing the Quotes page, I thought it would be fun to share a weekly quote in its place.
So here goes – the first quote of the week, which, along with the drive to live with commitment and impact, is the base philosophy of this blog. For this is a character who is open, curious and, above all, friendly.
“Years ago my mother used to say to me, she’d say, ‘In this world, Elwood, you must be’ – she always called me Elwood – ‘In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.’ Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.”
– Elwood P. Dowd, from the play Harvey by Mary Chase; the movie version starred James Stewart
