#TBT The night I broke my stand-up cherry

Just realized the other day that it’s been a little over 10 years since I gave my first stand-up performance with instructor Dawn Whitwell’s Comedy Girl Level One class at Comedy Bar in Toronto (the Bloor West location). With thanks to my sis Colleen McKim for shooting/editing, and shouts to classmate and M.C. Mandy McKeen!

If you’re in the Toronto area and have ever thought about taking a class in stand-up, improv, sketch, storytelling, etc., check out Comedy Bar’s class selection.

In case you missed it (I also posted this a while back), here’s my set.

That was awesome! You seemed totally comfortable, and never stuck for the next line or story. Must be that acting experience!

Thanks, Tina – glad you enjoyed it! Acting experience, plus lots of practice/rehearsal, then being open to the moment as much as possible.
